My records are slightly different but I notice that this information has been researched by Claire Hughes & John and Heather Gilbert. My grandfather's only sister Iris Myrtle married a Gilbert. Their elder brother Richard Alexander Ralph was killed on the Somme in 1918, aged 19 and only a short time after that Eliza died at the age of 47. The Johnston family, George and Roy in particular were significant mentors and guardians, in a ways, to my Grandfather who was 16 at the time of his mother's death.

Iris married Clarence Edward Richings in 1940 in Victoria Australia. (Clarence Edward Richings was born in 1910 in Alexandra, Victoria Australia.)
