Emil was educated (Thorndon School, Wellington). He was a Railway
Postmaster/Porter/Painter/Storeman. He resided at Wellington- Rangiora. Was on army reserve 1914-1918 ww1 27414 and was living with George Denby and Ellen Myers at 1 Udy Street, Petone. Following death of first wife (Our Grandmother) the boys were placed in the Island Bay
Home of Compassion and daughter Nellie went to Emil's mother. Joan, almost one year of age stayed for a while with Emil and Hannah Ferguson whom he marrid in 1931, the same year his twin children, Betty and William were born. Fathered a total of 10 children - the first five hardly knew their half siblings. On first marriage was listed as Percy Emil - on second marriage Emil Percy Anderson. Evening Post advert says second son of William Anderson According to the Evening Post of 24 July 1914 he was appointed to be postmaster at Whenuakura Railway Station. He also did well at Wanganui Boys School - top of class Standard V1 Wanganui Herald 13 December 1900.Also won a scholarship for Technical School March 1903.(Wanganui Herald 18 March 1903) Prior to his death, he lived at 19 Riley Cres, Woolston, earlier was at 10 Tyler Street, Rangiora as per the 1957 Hurunui Electoral Roll. Moved around the counrty a lot -Wanganui, Wellington, Hutt Valley and various parts of Canterbury.

Emil had a relationship with Hannah Walters, daughter of Joseph Henry Walters and Anne Elizabeth Blackmore. (Hannah Walters was born on 24 Apr 1898 in Makikihi, Waimate, South Canterbury New Zealand, died on 1 Jan 1986 in St Nicholas Hospital, Christchurch, Canterbury New Zealand and was buried on 6 Jan 1986 in Canterbury Crematorium, Christchurch New Zealand.)
