• note. 996 John- Wilts Greenwood notes:
Pam was a cousin, my father Alan being the youngest surviving (and longest lived) of the children of James Cecil Greenwood and Florence Jane Luscombe. You will find James Cecil and Florence Jane on several internet sites - I have a lot of information, but don't have a site myself.
Dad's family weren't close. You are probably aware that Elsie was pregnant when she married Rolly and the next child in our family, despite being quite a family tyrant, had a 2 year old son when she married the child's father. Florence Jane reacted to this by selling her inheritance and using the money to send her remaining 2 sons to Church of England Grammar school as boarders, so Alan and Gordon of necessity grew up separately from Rolly and Jessie, and their children did so as well. I met Daren and Robin, the twin boys, once or twice but they were fifteen years older and I don't remember them at all. Pam was another matter. She was a proper dish, and though just 9 years older physically, about 30 years older emotionally, but she still left an enduring mark. As a result of this limited contact I don't have any pictures of Rolly or family.
I believe Fred Boyes was a railway fettler, but other than that I know nothing of the family as James Cecil and Florence Jane left Pittsworth in about 1952 I think so I remember little of the town, despite having lived part of my life nearby in Wyreema and Loch Lomond where my father was the school teacher.

Roland married Elsie May Boyes, daughter of Frederick (Fred) Boyes and Mabel Green, on 26 Feb 1931 in Pittsworth, Toowoomba, Queensland Australia.230 (Elsie May Boyes was born on 5 Jan 1910 in Pittsworth, Toowoomba, Queensland Australia and died on 25 May 1994 in Toowoomba, Queensland Australia 230.)
