• source. Doug Hooper who notes: He served in the 8th Regiment, 1st Battalion of the AIF during World War I. He served in Gallipoli, and France. While serving Pozieres in the Somme district, he suffered gun shot and shell wounds to the face and left leg. As a result, his leg and arm were amputated and he subsequently died from those wounds. He was buried in the Boulogne Cemetery in Grave No. 3803.
