• source. Doug Hooper who notes: He was a Mining Surveyor and served in the 1st Pioneer Battalion as a Lieutenant at Gallipoli during World War I. He was twice Mentioned in Dispatches. He then served in France as a Captain and was awarded the Military Cross for his work at Poziers.

He also served for two years as a Lieutenant in the 9th Army Troop Company during World War II.


Harold married Ethel after 1918. (Ethel was born circa 1890.)
