Horace John Putland

• source. Doug Hooper who notes: He would have attended Galaquil School with his brothers and probably had many swims in the Yarriambiac Creek. He assisted his brother Ted at Ouyen for a while and then commenced share farming with brother Arthur near the 'Prospect' property.

In about 1924 Horace took up land north of Willangie East and in 1930 bought a 30 cwt Bedford truck which was used to cart the wheat. The load was 28 bags at one time and, after the years of wagons and horses, the speedier method of transport would be welcomed. Horace and Arthur worked in partnership for years.

Horace married Daisy Hall in 1928 in Kerang, Victoria Australia. (Daisy Hall was born circa 1900.)
