General Notes: Kathleen was a child actress and dancer. Was the harem scarem one of the family. Always had a trail of boys after her . Married a singer a Welshman named Thomas (Di) Smith . Was knocked about by her husband and divorced him. One son Peter who was put in an orphanage. During the war she worked as an ambulance driver and worked for Lever Brothers in their stations to service the troops. ie. feed them , wash their cloths etc.. She worked as an usherette in the Cinema. Trained as a hair dresser joined The White Star Line as a hairdresser or stewardess. She was a stewardess on the QE2 . Also travelled the world on banana boats . She was a heavy smoker .Her nickname was Kobo. (Kath-Bone etc) She was matron of Gracy Fields Home for Orphaned Children. Noted events in her life were: • Certificates: Death. Kathleen married Thomas Smith in 1927 in West Derby, Lancashire England. (Thomas Smith was born circa 1900.) |
