James Alban McDevitt arrived in Ariah Park with his parents and sisters in about 1909. He was born in Temora in on Jan 18th 1894 and died of cancer at the family farm 'Pine Lodge' near Ariah Park on May 16th 1953. He was 59 - not a great age. He is buried at the Ariah Park cemetery next to his wife.
