  General Notes:

William was a keen soldier and cricketer. During the Boer War he was a Private in the Mil. M.S.C. In WW1 he was a Sargent in the Royal Army Medical Corps.
War deaths gives him dead at 43 of 'heat effects' stationed in Baghdad 1922. Ref Page 333.

I visited Ann Bonehill (B20 Williams widow) on 10th August 1998 who told me all about William. She had two photographs of B19 which I copied. She also gave me two of his four medals. (The other two being in the attic which she will send on when she finds them ) According to an earlier letter from B20 the attic contains more photographs and letters from his farther to his mother.Medals I received, Queens South Africa to 1663 Pte.W.J.Bonehill Mil M.S.C. Four Bars to South Africa 1901, Transvaal, Orange Free State, Cape Colony. 1914-18 B.W.Medal to 19853 Sjt. W.A.Bonehill, R.A.M.C. The two missing medals are the WW1 Victory and 1914 Star with bar .(Mons Star) Confirmed by Sunset Militaria research 2.1999. William arrived in France 12.08.1914.

William married Lily Kate Noble on 5 Jun 1921 in Southwark, London, Surrey England. (Lily Kate Noble was born on 20 Dec 1892 and died on 19 Dec 1989 in Croydon, Surrey England.)
