  General Notes:

William Gibbons Weidenhofer became a Butcher by trade. He changed his name to William Malcolm in 1920. The name Malcolm comes from being married to Minnie Malcolm, the daughter of James and Annie Malcolm of Wallaroo.

William and Minnie moved to Albany, Western Australia in 1904 as he was offered a job in a Butcher shop.

The couple had four children. James Ewart Weidenhofer was born in 1900, the second child, who in turn was the father of Barry Malcolm, the owner of the web site that you sent to me.

All the family changed their name to Malcolm, as

William Weidenhofer had never wanted to be associated with the Weidenhofers after he left South Australia, and it was hard also for his children, being young adults to gain employment during such times as between the two wars, which was with
Germany
