   Cause of his death was Of Gunshot Wound.

  General Notes:

Came over on HMS Calcutta, arriving 9 Sept 1803 after being tried at Dorsett, England, and receiving a life sentence for stealing money and goods. He was initially sentenced to hanging, but reprived and sent to Australia on the "HMS Calcutta"
and arrived in Hobart 13.3.1801.



He was found 'stealing in company' at Gov. Collins' house and turned in all his accomplices. He was sent to Sydney on the whaler "Albion" 'for his own good' on 8.8.1807.



Granted a free pardon 31.1.1816 after his marriage to the 15 year old Maria (He was 21)



His birth name was STICKLAND not STRICKLAND, and he was also married under this name, but all his children and death names are spelt the latter way.

• Religion: Convict, arriving Hobart 9 Sep 1803 aboard the 'Calcutta'.


Phillip married Maria Collits, daughter of Pierce Brigginton Collits and Mary A. Hardwick, on 4 Sep 1811 in St Matthews R C, Windsor, NSW Australia. (Maria Collits was born on 1 Sep 1796 in King St, Tower Hill, London England, christened on 30 Sep 1796 in St Botolphs, Without Aldergate, London Middlesex England, died on 21 Sep 1829 in Castlereagh, NSW Australia 805 and was buried in Grave D0004-1A Castlereagh Cemetery, NSW Australia.)
