Mary Ann Sexton
- Born: Cir 1830, England UK
- Marriage (1): Richard (convict) Curd in Sydney, NSW Australia
- Died: Beechworth, Victoria Australia
Noted events in her life were:
• source. Margaret Curd & Duncan Wise who notes: I was looking on the internet and realised that one of my ancesters, Susanah Nugent was Mary Ann Sextons employer whom she stole from. I do hope she and her descendants did very well as it seemed so unjust and cruel to send a young woman away for what seems to us today such a paltry amount. I was relieved to see that she survived the trip , married and had a family. For my families sake I do apologise. Susannah Nugent ended up having a sad life her husband was killed in a coaching accident , not long after the incident with Mary Ann. She was left to raise four small children by herself. One son died in infancy , one son came to Australia and the other went to Portugal. She and her daughter ended their lives in much reduced circumstances as governesses. I wonder in her old age was she sorry that she helped send that poor girl out to Australia as a convict.
Mary married Richard (convict) Curd in Sydney, NSW Australia. (Richard (convict) Curd was born in 1830 in Maidstone, Kent England and died in 1860 in Spring Creek, Beechworth, Victoria Australia.)
