John Tindall was convicted at the Lincoln Summer Assizes for Receiver of stolen goods, for which offence he received Transportation for fourteen years. He sailed on the "Indefatigable", this vessel anchored in Sydney Cove on 26th April 1815. The indents state that he was tried on 23rd July 1814, that he was a native of York, a mariner by occupation and aged thirty-seven years. He was described as five foot nine and a quarter inches tall, with a ruddy complexion, brown hair and grey eyes.

• Occupation: Mariner.

• Arrived on the Ship: “Indefatigable (2)”, 26 Apr 1815, Sydney Cove, NSW Australia.

• Physical Description: He was described as five foot nine and a quarter i.


John married Lucy Cooper on 4 Nov 1839 in Presbyterian Register, Windsor, NSW Australia. (Lucy Cooper was born circa 1795 and was buried on 24 Mar 1848 in St Peters C of E, Richmond, NSW Australia.)
