General Notes:
Tom Cook notes: I've mentioned that Kay's mother was Marjorie Evelyn Govey (1914 - 1972). She was known by her initials, MEG. Her parents were Sybil Audrey Cogger (1891 Mount Macedon - died 1972 at our place in Bulleen) and a soldier named George Smith. We know next to nothing about George, except we have his photo and it was said by Sybil's sister, Dulcie, after Meg died, that he had come from Beechworth, Victoria. We have spent 100s of hours trying to track George, without success. We reckon he was probably born about the same time as Sybil, 1891. Of course, we have no idea when or where he died. George kept in touch with Sybil's sister, Dulcie (1905 - 1987), to learn how his daughter Meg was going. On June 5, 1914, before Meg was born (on December 28, 1914), Sybil married Charles Eustace Ah Gooey (later Anglicized to Govey) at the Parsonage, 97 Bridge Rd, Richmond - now the site of Epworth Hospital.
Noted events in his life were:
• Occupation: Timber cutter - Kimbolton forest, 1950. 277
• connection. 277
