dated 6 July 1822, proved 8 Oct. 1822, Episcopal Court, Wells (estate under £800; he
left £5 to Mary, wife of William Gray of Bath, plaisterer, £5 to Catherine wife of John
Wilkins, £10 to William Robert Lea 'now a servant at the Marlbrow Tap in Bath,
£100 to Elizabeth, daughter of David Aust of Bath, carpenter, £100 to the trustees of
Lady Huntingdon's Chapel in Bath; the residue of his estate, after his wife's death,
was to be divided between the British and Foreign Bible Society and the Hibernian
Society of establishing schools and circulating the Holy Scripture in Ireland; the
executors of his will were his brother Joseph, Joseph Clarke of Balance Street, Bath,
blacksmith, and John Harvey of Clement Street, Walcot, carpenter). Married Ann …2
Named in her husband's will (given all his household goods and lands for life; the will
also mentions her Bennett and Arnold nephews and nieces in Yorkshire,3 who were
each to £50). Died 10 Jan. 1835. Widow of Balance Street, Walcot, Bath, will dated 5
Jan. 1833, proved 22 Apr. 1835, Episcopal Court, Wells (estate under £100; mentions
her nephew John Arnold of Hull in Yorkshire, her great-niece Mary Ann Algar,
spinster, of Walcot, was to be the executrix of her will4).
