Peter Morfee

  General Notes:

Land Tax Records 1785 - Peter Morfee owned much land in Hurstpierpoint whe r e h e lived himself and rented to various people including JOHN and Thomas Pra tt , Th omas Herriot, Thomas King etc. He also signed the Loyalty Declaration o f 1 4.1.1 793 which was intended for the "Lewes Journal.
In 1801 he owned Eastlands 31 acres which was occupied by Thomas King.
Court Book 14.1.1802 Death of Peter presented. He left Eastlands and proper t y a t Slaugham to his young son William. Will transcribed.

Peter married Eleanor Marchant, daughter of William Marchant and Sarah Norton, on 3 May 1784 in Hurstpierpoint, Sussex England PR. (Eleanor Marchant was born on 13 Aug 1750, died on 2 Oct 1785 and was buried on 29 Oct 1785 in Hurstpierpoint, Sussex England Tomb.)
