Rosane was taken by ambulance into hospital at 0.40 a.m. on 11th April but d i d n ot give birth until that evening at 7.16 p.m. when Simon had the honour o f c utti ng the umbilical cord.
Alena weighed 3,687 gms and was 51 cm long with dark hair and eyes.
The next afternoon she was visited by Simon's parents, Uncle Martin, Gisela, H e l ge, Inken, Julia and Wolfgang who were all in Hamburg for Oma's (Sonja Gross ma nn ) funeral which took place that morning.
