  General Notes:

Worked as a chef at the Metropole Hotel, Brighton before World War II.
Conscripted as private during the war. Captured at Tobruk and held prisone r i n I taly and Chemnitz till 1945.
Joined J. Arthur Rank as trainee cinema manager in 1945 at Chingford. Variou s p r omotions moved him and his family to Lowestoft (1945-1949), Norwich (1949- 1951 ) , Colchester (1951-56), Chadwell Heath (1956-?). From there he was promot ed lo ca lly to Barking then to Kilburn Gaumont State. About 1970 he was finall y move d t o Newcastle where he finished his career.

Cyril married Edith Maud Sayers on 9 Sep 1939 in Worthing, West Sussex England. (Edith Maud Sayers was born circa 1920 in Washington, Sussex England.)
