David together with his parents, two brothers and three sisters, travelled to Australia per ship “Fairsea” departing in 1955 under Netherland Australia Migration Agreement.
David had completed 7 years primary school. From August 1954 until June 1955 he was employed in a food factory belonging to P. de Gruyter at ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Holland

David married Alice Maude Grace Skelton, daughter of Arthur Samuel Skelton and Florence Ruby May (Ruby) Smith. (Alice Maude Grace Skelton was born circa 1945.)
