The Broken Hill Police had to fill out a Police Check. Ken had no charges against him and on the form was the following passage: - Kenneth Stuart THOMPSON is known to me and I can say that he is a sober, honest and respectable man. He has been recently appointed a Justice of Peace.

On the form that was filled out when Kenneth was interviewed the following note was made at the bottom of the page: -
Tidy & neat appearance. Nervous throughout interview. Country type. Has good references. Honest & industrious sort of chap. Suitable. J. Templeton A/Sgt 18/6/1940.
The Trade Test section was filled out as: -
Not sufficient knowledge for Trainee Mechanic. Suitable for enlistment as Aircrafthand.

On the 20/3/1941 Kenneth applied for REMUSTER: -
Herewith application to be considered for remuster to Driver Motor Transport, my present mustering being that of Aircrafthand.
In applying for such remuster I feel that my ability would be of the standard necessary for such a consideration.
Previous to joining the R.A.A.F. I had eight years experience driving Motor Cars and Trucks, and practically all my experience being in the Central parts of Australia where every possible difficulty is met with, the nearest garage being over two hundred miles distant. My duties at all times being of a satisfactory nature to my Employer.
My reason for applying to this remuster is that I understand that there is a shortage of Transport Drivers on the Station.
