Walter Cornish Gommow Haines

  General Notes:

Walter Cornish Gummon Haines enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 9 Aug 1915. His father Mr Charles William Haines of Duke Street, Northan, W.A. was his next of kin. The Certificate of Medical Examination describes him as: - 19 years and 9 months, height - 5 feet 7 inches, weight - 131 pounds, chest measurement - 33/35 and a half inches, complexion - dark, eyes - grey, hair - dark and religious denomination - Church of Engand. His distintive marks were: - small mole near right nipple and scar on left shin.
Walter was in the Depot until 16/10/1915 when he was either discharged or left.

Walter married Ellen Veronica (Vera) Finnin, daughter of Daniel Finnin and Emily Charlotte (Emmie) Stephens, on 23 Dec 1930 in St George Cathedral, Perth, Western Australia. (Ellen Veronica (Vera) Finnin was born on 14 Aug 1896 in Fitzroy North, Melbourne, Victoria Australia and died on 18 Apr 1973 in Fremantle, Western Australia.)
