Walter Cornish Gummon Haines enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 9 Aug 1915. His father Mr Charles William Haines of Duke Street, Northan, W.A. was his next of kin. The Certificate of Medical Examination describes him as: - 19 years and 9 months, height - 5 feet 7 inches, weight - 131 pounds, chest measurement - 33/35 and a half inches, complexion - dark, eyes - grey, hair - dark and religious denomination - Church of Engand. His distintive marks were: - small mole near right nipple and scar on left shin.
Walter was in the Depot until 16/10/1915 when he was either discharged or left.
