Ivie Blezard enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 28/8/1914. His Medical Certificate describes him as: - 5 feet 9 and three quarter inches, weight - 182 pounds, chest measurement - 35/39 and religion - Church of England.
Ivie was admitted to No. 2 Australian General Hospital, Mena House, Cairo from 10/12/1914 until 30/12/1914 with influenza
Ivie was wounded on 30/4/1915 at Gallipoli with gunshot wounds to shoulder and chest penetrating. He was admitted to Ras-el-tin Military Hospital. On 14/5/1915 he was transferred to No. 15 General Hospital at Alexander. On 27/7/1915 he was transferred to hospital train to Cairo. On 15/8/1915 he then embarked on “Themistocles” for Australia for discharge. The Ship arrived in Australia on 10/9/1915 and his appointment terminated on 16/2/1916.

Colonel I. Blezard.
A large circle of friends in Echuca and surrounding district will be deeply grieved to learn of the death of Colonel I. Blezard, which occurred at Onepah Station, Tibooburra. The deceased was for many years a prominent figure in Echuca and Moama, and was one of the first in Echuca to volunteer for service when the last war broke out. He was attached to the “7th Battalion AIF”, and was in the landing at Gallipoli, where he was so seriously wounded that he was invalided home. He also saw service in the South African war. For a number of years he held the position of town clerk at Moama, where his ability as an administrator gained him the confidence and esteem of all members of the council. He is suvived by a wife, two sons Jack and Bill, and two daughters, Marjorie (Mrs Thompson) and Gypsie.
