Obituary in The Kilmore Free Press, Thursday 26th June 1947:-
With deep regret we announce the death of Mrs Edith Walter, which occurred recently. The deceased lady spent her early life in the Coleraine district and went to Pyalong about 50 years ago, where she has resided ever since. She leaves a family of three sons and one daughter to mourn the loss of a devoted mother. The funeral to the Heathcote Cemetery was attended by a large number of deceased's friends. The coffin-bearers were:- Reg, Bill and Bruce (sons) Roy May (son-in-law), George and Frank Zoch (nephews). Pall-bearers: Messrs A. and R Dickinson, J McHarg, E Huston, Frank and Eric Walter. Amongst the many floral tributes were wreaths from the Pyalong Church of England Guild and Pyalong C.W.A. Branch.

Mary married Frederick William Walter, son of John James Walter and Ellen (Helen) Hiscock, in 1905 in Victoria Australia. (Frederick William Walter was born in 1872 in Pyalong, Victoria Australia, died on 19 Jul 1938 in Heathcote, Melbourne, Victoria Australia and was buried in 1938 in Heathcote Cemetery, Melbourne, Victoria Australia.)
