Victor Henry Lavington Dunn enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 28/6/1917. His father was next of kin - Mr Henry James Dunn, “Evandale” Mitchell Street, Northcote, Victoria. Victor was still a student, he had been attending the Melbourne University. On the Certificate of Medical Examination Victor is described as - 19 years 11 months, height - 5 feet 5 inches, weight - 124 pounds, chest measurement - 32/35 inches, complexion - fresh, eyes - blue, hair - brown and religious denomination - Presbyterian. His distinctive marks - Vac 2 left arm. Victor served in France. He was wounded in action (gassed) on 29/9/1918 sent to England to recover. On 14/1/1919 he returned to Australia per “City of York”.
