General Notes:
Alan Thomson Australia Full name Alan Ogilvie Thomson Born September 1, 1899, Tibooburra, New South Wales Died circa 1930, Queensland Major teams Victoria Batting style Right-hand bat Bowling style Right-arm fast First-class span 1925/26
Tibooburra is called Corner Country. It is so called because surveyors made a corner where they mapped out the states of New South Wales, South Australia and Queensland. Infamous by virtue of frequent mentions in weather reports as the hottest place in New South Wales, 330 kilometres from the nearest town, Broken Hill, and 1500 kilometres from Sydney. It is a town that is not so much on the road to nowhere as at the end of the road.
Alan married Margery Elston Blezard, daughter of Ivie Blezard and Elizabeth Whidburn, on 30 Apr 1931 in Echuca, Victoria Australia. (Margery Elston Blezard was born on 27 Jul 1903 in Ballarat, Victoria Australia, died on 5 Oct 1984 and was buried in Tibooburra Cemetery, NSW Australia.)
