  General Notes:

Colin Gordon Thomson was born on the 7 December 1886 at Kangaroo Ground, Victoria, the eldest son in a family of six boys and two girls.
He was educated at the Tibooburra State School, N.S.W. and the Neutral Bay High School in Sydney. N.S.W.
In 1909 his father passed away and Colin took his place in the pastoralist business and looked after the family until he enlisted in 1915.
He was engaged to Dr. Mary C. De Garis who was afterwards with the Scottish Womens Hospital unit in Salovitsa.
Colin was killed in action on the 4th August 1916 at Pozieres, France.

Colin Gordon Thomson enlisted in the Australian Imperial Forces on 28 February 1915.
The Certificate of medical Examination describes Colin as:- 28 years 4 months, height - 5 feet 8 and a half inches, chest measurement - 35 and a half/38 inches, complexion - fresh, eyes - grey, hair - brown and religious denomination - Presbyterian. His distinctive marks were - Vacs 3 left arm.
