Martha Speers

Mrs. Martha Mustey.
The death occured at her home in High Street, Lancefield, on 30th July of Mrs. Martha Mustey, wife of Mr. George Mustey.
The late Mrs. Mustey was the third daughter of the late William and Martha Speers of Corop, where she was born nearly 87 years ago.
In 1902 she married Mr. George Mustey, who was farming at North Lancefield. Some years later they came to live in High Street.
The deceased lady was of a quiet disposition, and her only interests were her home and her garden. She was highly esteemed for her kindness to all who knew her.
Besides her husband she leaves two sons and four daughters to whom much sympathy has been expressed by a large number of friends and relatives.
After a service at her home on Wednesday, 1st August the cortage left for Fawkner Crematorium. The services at the home and crematoruim were conducted by the Rev. A. M. Clark, formerly of Lancefield. The funeral was largely attended and there were many beautiful floral tributes.
Coffin-bearers were Messrs. C. and W. Mustey (sons) R. Hodgkinson and A. Trenery (grandsons). The pall was supported by Messrs. A. Williams, J. Hemphill, R. Notman, K. Jamieson, G. Walker and T. Speers.
Flower bearers were Mrs. C. Mustey, Mrs. R. Notman, Mrs. Foy, Mrs. Ryan, Mrs. Sinclair, Mrs. Trenery and Miss Babe Mustey.

Martha married George John Mustey, son of Charles Mustey and Mary Dixon, on 9 Jul 1902 in Victoria Australia. (George John Mustey was born on 29 Sep 1875 in Lancefield, Victoria Australia, died on 11 Nov 1966 in Lancefield, Victoria Australia and was buried on 14 Nov 1966 in Cremated at Fawkner Crematorium & Memorial Park, Victoria Australia Ashes Interred 3Rd Ave Rose Garden Comp.
