Merle Wong notes:
Another bit on the Buck Family, and I can't remember if I sent the information to you, is the death of Leah Evelyn Blanch (FAHEY) BUCK
I saw the offer of the reward on the TV and was thinking, that sounds like one of the Buck families in the family tree.

MELBOURNE grandmother Leah Buck should have died peacefully in her bed, not as the result of a mugging, her family says.

MRS Buck was out exercising after a hip replacement when she was struck on the back of the head in 1994.
"It's not the right way that a 79-year-old lady should go," granddaughter Sue Charlton told reporters in Melbourne on Saturday.

"We're hoping somebody will come forward. Somebody will know what's happened to Nana. People know what's happened and they need to come forward."

Police are offering a reward of $1 million to find the person who attacked Mrs Buck while she was walking down a Williamstown Street.

Mrs Buck, who was "idolised" by her three children and five grandchildren, was robbed of her purse and her handbag and left bleeding and disoriented, with her shopping trolley turned over on its side.

A passing motorist found her and she was taken to hospital, but died the next day.

The post mortem examination revealed she died as a result of the injuries she sustained from the robbery.

Ms Charlton said she and her family feel like they have been robbed.

"My grandmother was going to live until she was 90," Ms Charlton said.

"She was going to go to sleep on day and die peacefully.

"She's been robbed of getting to know her great grandchildren. We were robbed of grieving in a normal manner."

Homicide Squad Detective Sergeant Sol Solomon said Mrs Buck had been going about her business in Williamstown when she was struck out of nowhere.

"To leave an elderly woman on her knees on the side of the road, who had been hit and or knocked over with such brute force that her trolley was overturned and she was ultimately killed, is just shocking," Det Serg Solomon said.

Victoria Police are seeking information on the incident that took place on Dover Road twenty years ago
