George Ralph Budd aka Rogers ran away from home in his late teens and took to the road.
He married twice and fathered 13 children in all that I know about.
I think he was about 65 when his last child was born.
The name Rogers came about because the Police were looking for him after somebody had accused him of stealing a Bicycle. When the Police arrived at his work place they asked him if he was George budd but he denied it, saying "My name is George Rogers."
His work mates never gave him away so he kept the name Rogers from then on, although he never officially changed his true surname so all his official documents have him as George Ralph Budd commonly known as George Ralph Rogers.
