  Research Notes:

source: & Bernice A Darby who notes:
After a number of years researching William and Elizabeth, we have confirmed that they were 1st cousins.
William Henry Haddock was the son of James Wheeler Haddock and Mary Ann Searle (nee Heydon).
Elizabeth (Betsy) Mary was the daughter of William Hanson Heydon and Elizabeth (nee Perkins).

William Hanson and Mary Ann Searle were brother and sister. Not sure how much further you want to go along this path, but I can provide a great deal more information if required.
Only to say that originally the Heydon and Haddock families were from Plymouth, Devon. William Hanson Heydon was a shipwright in the Royal Dockyards in Devonport, like his father and grandfather before him.

For shipping arrivals, William Hanson Heydon arrived in Sydney, prior to his family, aboard the 'Anglesey' on 17/12/1852.
Elizabeth and their children, Charlotte Ann Hardey, Elizabeth, Thomas George, Henry Hanson & Philip John (my ancestor), plus a married daughter Mary Ann, arrived in Sydney aboard the 'Kate' 21/11/1854.
Another son, Charles William and his wife arrived in Sydney aboard the 'Hornet' 3/3/1859.
later Marlene added:
William Henry Haddock - in the past a difficult one to confirm. I don't think the William Haddock of Morpeth is the same as our William Henry Haddock. From my past experience these two have been confused. William Henry has always been listed as a 'Sawyer' not an 'Iron Moulder'. His marriage certificate to Elizabeth Mary Heydon lists him as 'An English Visitor', which always seemed strange to me.
1841 UK Census William (2y) s/o James & Mary Haddock living Pitt Head Mews, Mayfair. Plus Marys' mother Ann Heydon & sister Sarah Heydon.
1851 UK Census Henry (12y) scholar at Lidlington, Bedfordshire.
I haven't been able to find him in any shipping lists into NSW, but his eldest brother James arrived in 1849, sisters Eliza & Emily in 1854, then his mother and younger siblings in 1858. Given his marriage in 1859 he must have arrived after his mother.
Birth Certificates of his children have him living in Pyrmont then Kent St from 1860 - 1868, then from 1875 - 1879 in Wellington, NSW.
His wife Elizabeth died 1885 in Wellington. The death certificate has William Henry dying at Macquarie street Asylum, Parramatta but no family information. Which leads me to believe that he returned to Sydney after Elizabeth died and the children stayed in Wellington.

St. Paul's Church was sold a number of years ago to the Greek Orthodox Church and while it retains its original 'English Parish Church' facade, the interior has been changed to reflect Greek Orthodox imagery. The only think that remains are the original pews, which apparently have been very welcome to the older members of the congregation. Usually services are still held standing up (for hours)!
