In 1891 the family were living above the shop, at Hairdressers, Harpenden, Hertfordshire, and judging by the children's birth places, moved to Dunstable between 1894-1899. On 1901 census the family were at 50 High Street North, Dunstable, Bedfordshire, with 7 children.
