In 1861, family living in Card Square, Frant. In 1871, listed as Frant Street, only John and Alfred living at home, presumably Emily had died as no further trace. By 1881, Susan is a widow, aged 55, living at Rose Cottage, with her son Alfred aged 24, who is married, occupation Stone Mason (as his uncles and cousins).

Susan married William Card, son of John Card and Sarah Gregory. (William Card was born in 1829 in Frant, East Sussex England and died in 1880 in Frant, East Sussex England.)
