Married Adelaide Regina Bean on Nov. 21, 1893 at St. Peter's Church in Washington D.C. Herbert had two brothers (Arthur and Charles William) and a sister, Maryanne. All of the children were Christened on the same day, Oct. 28, 1860 at Holy Trinity Church, Paddington, London, England. Herbert traveled around the world twice before meeting Adelaide Regina Bean at a party in Washington D.C. and finally settling down to raise a family in Philadelphia. He and Adelaide had three children; Grace, Frederick and Marie Loretta. Herbert, Grace and Freddie died in a typhoid fever epidemic in Philadelphia in 1899. He never saw his daughter, Marie Loretta, who was born in July of 1899.
