BRIGADIER-GENERAL G. GWYN-THOMAS AND MRS SALTREN-WILLETT.
At St. Jame's, Piccadilly, yesterday, the marriage took place very quietly of Brigadier-General Gwyn Gwyn-Thomas, C.M.O., D.S.O., to Mrs. Helen M. Saltren-Willett, widow of Colonel Saltren-Willett, Royal Artillery, of Petticombe, North Devon. Archdeacon Lambert officiated, and the bride was given away by her brother, Mr. A. Macdonald Baird. She wore a dress of pearl-grey marocain, draped with old Honiton lace, and a grey hat to match trimmed with blue grapes and a grey veil. In place of flowers Mrs. Saltren-Willett carried a Prayer-book, and she was unattended. Captain Cobb, 8th Hussars, was the best man. Among those present at the service were: -
Sir George and Lady Bullock, Sir Capel and Lady Holden, Mr. and Mrs. Widdicombe, Mrs. Eardley Howard, Commander Skinner, Mrs. Lionel Warren, Miss Gwn-Thomas, Mrs. Holland, Colonel and Mrs. Moore St. Leger, and Mrs. Macdonald Baird and Miss Baird.

Great-uncle Gwyn (don't know why he changed the name) appears in "Who Was Who" for 1946. He was born in Tiruchirupalli [Trichinopoly], Madras, in 1871, and was sent "home" in 1876 with his older sister, my paternal grandmother Hilda Margaret Rose Thomas (1869-1952), to live with their paternal grandmother and her maiden daughter at Weston-super-mare.
