Edward arrived at Port Jackson NSW after being tried at Middlesex ENG and had received a 7 year sentence. 'Certificate of Freedom' gained 19 January 1826. The following information was extracted from the Colonial Secretary Index 1788-1825: MITCHELL, Edward. Per "John Barry", 1819 1824 Mar 31 Servant to John Single; sentenced to Emu Plains. On return of fines and punishments inflicted by the Bench of Evan (Reel 6023; 4/6671 p.68) 1824 Oct 16 On list of prisoners assigned (Fiche 3290; 4/4570D p.88) 1824 Oct 20 On return of convicts discharged from the Establishment, Emu Plains; to Joseph Griffith, Nepean (Reel 6028; 2/8283 p.203) c.1825 On list of Government servants employed by John Single of Evan; from May 1823 to Jan 1824 (Fiche 3155; 4/1844B No.741 p.539)
