We are related! I am descended through Thomas Spink's daughter Ann.

To date all my research has been done on line as I live in Caerphilly in S outh Wales. My aunt lives near York and has been researching the family tr ee for a lot longer than I have. She is hoping to put it all down in a bo ok form by Christmas. I know she has researched the Spinks as far ba ck as she feels she can go.
I will give her your email address and ask her to get in touch. She wou ld not tell me very much as she wants me to wait until she has her book re ady, however she may be more forth coming with you. Otherwise we may bo th have to wait until Christmas!

Anyway here's what I have:

The earliest Spink I have like you is Thomas Spink. As already stat ed I am descended through his daughter Ann.

Ann married Joseph Hirst, they had 3 daughters: Elizabeth abt 1863 at Mo nk Fryton, Clara abt 1865 at Little Fenton and Lovinia abt 1868 at Biggin.

Clara is my Great grandma. She married William Harrison born 31/08/18 62 at Sycamore House Church Fenton. The Harrison's have farmed at Sycamo re Farm for generations. William and Clara married in Ripon on the 1/11/18 86.

I have found records of 6 children including my Grandma Hilda Harrison, b ut my dad seems to think that she was one of about 13 the other children d ieing either at birth or very young.

Hilda Harrison was born 10/2/1897 at Sycamore Farm she married John Higgin s, also of Church Fenton (my Granddad). They had four children includi ng my dad, also John Higgins. They eventually settled in North Wales whe re my Grandma died on the 28/4/1972.

I hope this is of use to you, sorry I can't go any further back than Thom as yet.

Thanks for the additional info. No I don't think any of the ones below a re William. I got the information from my Grandma's bible. The bible was g iven to her by her uncle Thomas Harrison. He has written a family tr ee in it and grandma has added her parents, siblings and the dates of dea th of the previous generation.

The info I have got from the bible is:

John Harrison born 14/08/1811 in Barlow married Margaret Cooke. They had t wo sons William Harrison abt 1807 Pocklington and John Harrison abt 1811 B arlow.

John Harrison (junior) married Ann Bean. They also had two sons Thomas Har rison abt 1861 Little Fenton and William Harrison 31/08/1862 Church Fenton .

I have some copies of marriage certificates which I have asked my daught er to drop into work as my Aunt is wanting to know which ones I have. I ca n't remember off hand whose I have and whose I am still looking fo r. I am slowly trying to get ones for each generation so that I don't disa ppear along a wrong line! If I think any of them are of interest to y ou I will email you the details at lunchtime.
