Kenneth was captured by the Japanese during World War II and imprisoned in Changi POW camp. Towards the end of the war, the Japanese were transferring POWs to Japan. One of their POW ships was torpedoed by an American submarine, many of the prisoners, including Kenneth Mann, survived the explosion but were later drowned. Kenneth was a member of the A.I.F. 2/26 BN., Australian Infantry and there is a memorial to hisdeath at Labuan Memorial in Malaysia (supplied by Paul Mann).
