Jennie Morgan who notes: Her father, James Benton was a gardener as stated on the immigration records to New Zealand and on the Birth/Baptism registrations in Hobart, Australia, of Rachael and her sister Rebecca Mr and Mrs James and Harriet Benton and their 3-year-old daughter, Harriet, left England in 1841, as immigrants destined for New Zealand. They were passengers on the ship Bolton that as noted in New Zealand Gazette & Wellington Spectator, arrived in Wellington, Wednesday March 2nd 1842 and then went to Nelson, New Zealand. On the registration of the birth of Rachael, James is listed as a gardener living in Arthur Street, Hobart. Later at the registration of Rebecca, a third daughter born 11th May 1854, they are still living in Arthur Street and James is still a gardener.
James married Harriet Twist. (Harriet Twist was born circa 1825.)
