firstly I must thank you sincerely for you website, without which I would never have found my father Barry John Storer. I am 54 years old and at 53 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. My mother told me my supposed father who had died when I was 13 was in fact my adoptive father and my real father was Barry. When I found your link to Barry online my mother confirmed, that was his wife Marjorie and they had a son David. My adoption laws meant my father (I was born out of wedlock) could never find me and because he had worked for SAS his files were locked and I couldn't find him either.
I thought, I wonder if Toni (who is about 8 weeks younger than me) is listed under her maiden name on facebook. A long shot at best but she was! I private messaged her and she said yes, Brenda, we've all been looking for you for ages!
I have since met my dad a couple of times and I am helping him with is cancer journey as he has bone cancer. I became somewhat of an expert on chemo with my own treatment.

Barry John Storer (edit for your website) birthday is 16 March 1940. He is 5 years junior to Marjorie whom he divorced a long time ago but they still live walking distance from each other in Brunswick Heads. Marjorie lives with her daughter Toni.

She later added:
My mother Eleanor Lunt wouldn't marry Barry after he divorced Marjorie. He lost contact with my mother after she moved and married my adoptive father. Barry did eventually remarry in 1974 in the Marshall Islands near Nauru. Her name was Gloria but I don't know what her maiden name was. Between Barry and Gloria (now deceased) they had a daughter Gwenda who lives in Brisbane with her husband and 3 children.

Barry has now moved to Burrum Heads, Qld where he lives on the beach front in a unit two doors from our place. He is getting to know me again (yes I do remember his laugh from when I was 2 years old.) and his son in law (my husband) and two grandchildren (my sons).

Oh btw, it might be prudent to say Barry was in the SAS, not asio or cia. They get a bit guarded about letting out secrets and Barry is having a hellish time with the DVA just trying to find his service files let alone divulge where he has been and what he did.
