On 22nd May 1965 at the Royal Womens Hospital in Brisbane Annette gave birth to a boy and even in those enlightened times it was still considered a sin to be an unmarried mother so Annette had no choice but to have the baby adopted out.
At this time the family researcher applied to the family services of the day to adopt the child, but the conditions placed on them to adopt a family member were considered to be not in the best interests of the child and were therefore abandoned.
The child was adopted by William Charles Rex Williams and Peggy Williams, who named the child William Morton Bryan Williams. In 1998 William was living at Redcliffe, Brisbane and was working as a roofing installer/contractor, he was married and had three girls aged from about 9 to 14 years. He met with the researcher once but declined to have further contact.
William's father was Trevor Hansen who was killed in a heavy vehicle accident some time around 1990
