Ada & Edward were not legally married as it would turn out as Edward (who was fondly known as Charlie) never divorced his first wife. Edward was charged with bigamy in 1909 and served 18 months hard labour in Goulburn Gaol. Ada died 7 weeks after her ninth child was born due to Mastitis. It was said that Ada had long Auburn hair and was an attractive woman.

Ada married Edward Charles (the second) Wickham, son of Edward Charles (the first) Wickham and Harriet Gosper, on 8 Aug 1907 in Eltham, near Lismore, NSW Australia. (Edward Charles (the second) Wickham was born circa 1880 in Paddington, Sydney, NSW Australia.)
