Rachel's Father and Grandfather were Horticulturalists- Grandfather had been a Professor at University of Galway in Ireland and his son had followed in his fathers footsteps and set up a Model Farm at Royal Park to show farmers and market gardeners what to grow in the new colony of Victoria

Rachel married Lewis Clarke, son of William Derham Clarke and Mary Anne Bowe. (Lewis Clarke was born in 1866 in Lexington Station, near Moyston, Victoria Australia and died in 1946 in Royal Park, Victoria Australia.)
