This family was left in Scotland when James was Transported for Treason with the other 18 Scottish Radicals.
James' son from his first marriage was still living in Scotland at the time of his death...The Government allowed convicts to remarry after seven years if they still had a spouse living in their homeland without getting a divorce

Frances married James Wright, son of Duncan Wright and Margaret Lockhart, on 9 Jan 1818. (James Wright was born in 1799 and died in Jul 1876.)
