• source. Nigel Flowers @ genes who writes: Friday 23 December, 1853 at Goulburn Quarter Sessions, James Bush was convicted on a charge of Horse Stealing. Aconviction that earned him a sentence of 5 years hard labour on the roads and other public works of the colony. He was sentenced on the following day and off he went to do his time at Cockatoo Island. In December 1859 he was locked up again for stealing his neighbours cattle.
