Mrs. A. Teschner Dies Last Night At Home of Son
Mrs. Augusta Teschner, widow of Fredrich Treschner,route 4, town of Farmington, died last night at 8 o'clock at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Teschner. Death was due to old age. She had been in falling health since February. Until February, when she suffered a stroke, She had maintained her own home, but after the attack she was taken to her son's home to be cared for.
Born in Germany, her maiden name Augusta Giehring. She was born March 7, 1848. Her parents died when she was a young girl In 1879 she came to the United States and first lived in the town of Watertown, later going to the town of Farmington where she had lived for most of her life.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. William Linnes, route 4, town of Watertown, daughter from a previous marriage, and one son, Louis Teschner, who lives on the homestead. There is one grandson, Lyle Teschner. An adult daughter, Emma, preceded her mother in death.
Mrs. Teschner was the only member of her family to come to America. She had for many years been a member of the Immanuel Lutheran church at Farmington and was a charter member of the Ladies' Aid society of the parish. She was well known in her community and possessed a host of friends in that locality.
The body was brought to the Nowack funeral home and will be taken to home of the son and the funeral will be held from there Friday at 1:30 p.m. with services in the church at Farmington at 2 o'clock. The Rev. A. E. Paap will officiate. The service will be in German. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the home of the son to pay their respects beginning Thursday afternoon.
