Stewart-Fahnline Wedding Is Beautiful Home Event
At 10 o'clock this morning the nuptials of Miss Helene Stewart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, H. T. Stewart, Cedar Avenue, and John Fahnline, Euclid Avenue celebrated, with a beautiful and impressive service in the living room of the Stewart home. Miss Eleanor Gamble and Edward Huether were the attendants. Rev. Dr. R. Harlan McCartney, pastor of the U. P. Church officiated.
An alter of multi-colored garden flowers and greens was erected in the living room, and before this the vows were exchanged. The bride was given away by her father. The ring ceremony was used.
At the entry of the bridal party Miss Ruth Shook played the "Lohengrin" Wedding march, and the Mendelsohn march was played at the close of the ceremony. Miss Mary Eckles, of Sharpsville, sang " O Promise Me." accompanied by Miss Shook.
The bride was attired in an exquisite gown of white pussywillow satin, made bouffant style, and the wide scalloped skirt trimmed with inserts of tulle. Her tulle veil was worn cap fashion, and she carried a beautiful bouquet of bride's roses, babies' breath and lilies of the valley in a shower effect.
Miss Eleanor Gamble wore a pretty creation of orchid taffeta, made with basque waist and full skirt, and carried a bouquet of yellow roses with small orchid flowers in shower effect. Her slippers and hose were of white.
The Wedding breakfast was served at Hermitage Inn, and placements were laid for 30. Pink and white appointments and flowers were employed effectively in arranging the tables. From out of town were Misses Mary Smith and Mary Braham, of New Wilmington; Mrs. George Baldwin and daughter Dorothy, of Steubenville, O.; Miss Irma Sutton, of Avonmore, Pennsylvania., and Miss Sally Malone of Washington, Pennsylvania.
Immediately after the breakfast, Mr. and Mrs. Fahnline left for a motor trip to California, where they will remain for the Winter. Upon their return they will make their home, in Euclid Avenue. Traveling, the bride wore an attractive ensemble of tan.
Mr. and Mrs. Fahnline are both graduates of Sharon High School. The latter was graduated from Westminster College, and a member of the Chi Omega National Fraternity, and Mr. Fahnline is a graduate of Cornell University. Both are popular and held in high esteem, and a host of friends extend sincerest well wishes.
