served in North Africa, Greece and in the New Guinea campaign. He
was"Mentioned in Dispatches" in March 1942, and was awarded the Military Medal
in June 1943.

Algernon married Leila May Bull, daughter of Bull and Unknown, in 1938 in Victoria Australia. (Leila May Bull was born in 1919 in Quambatook, Victoria Australia and died in Mar 2007 in Lake Boga, Victoria Australia.)
