William Rochfort, Iris Butler's husband was born in Frogmore, NSW near Boorowa in 1908. Bill was married before the outbreak of the war in 1939 and had a daughter Faye (Cable) before his wife's death during the Second World War. He then met Iris and they married in Sydney in about 1950. Bill served overseas during the War.
After the war Bill worked in the wool buying industry and was based in a Sydney office.
Faye, Bill's daughter, is married to Laurie Cable and has three children Bruce, Allan and Beth (Michel). Beth is married to a teacher and in 1998 she was living in Orange, NSW.
Bill Rochfort died at home at 24 Tennant Pde., Dulwich Hill, in Sydney at the age of 82 years on 22 May 1991. He is buried at Rookwood Cemetery Sydney in the Catholic Lawn Section No 7. The grave is in the 3rd row on the right and 4 graves up from the end. Iris is now buried in the same grave with Bill after her death in March 2000. There is a tap at the end of the row.
