My lineage comes from George's brother, Thomas Mair b June 2, 1874.
My g-grandfather, Thomas and his family came to Canada in 1913.
They came to Canada on the ship, Hesperian.
Two years later, in Sept 1915, the ship was sunk by the same U-boat captain that sunk the Lusitania, in May of 1915.
My wife's friend (another retired teacher) is married to the grandson of Captain Schwieger, captain of the U-20. Weird.
