I came across your website this morning whilst doing a search for Mary Crouch then 1783. My connection is rather remote, my relationship is with Jane Clout who married William Baker in 1737 and we are second cousins eight times removed (ie we are eight generations apart). Our common progenitors are Thomas Clout (c1612-24/10/1699) and Margaret Baker ( -08/09/1658). So coming forward I would be about 10th cousin to quite a number of people now. I am the research coordinator for the Clout Descendants Society and maintain their database. As we are tracing all the descendants of the earliest traced Clout I need to make sure that I get the right family for the right Thomas Baker.
